Removing locked petrol cap?
I bought a spare tank the other day and it arrived yesterday however, the petrol cap is still on it and locked.
I haven't had a chance to take a proper look, but without a key, how do you release the catch to get these off??
Cheers
Luke

This sounds like it is going to be fun!
Yeah - all I tried this morning was my own key (in case I got lucky) and a half-arsed attempt with a screwdriver before work. Looks like I'm going to have to get medieval on it!

Re: Removing locked petrol cap?
Just remembed i had a key cut for a ignition by just bringing it in to a locksmith. Expensive as a complete set off ebay and you may run into a smith who wont touch it (just in case)
If you do go medieval its really easy with a drill as the metal is so soft. Use a small bit to just break the pins inside and you can keep the lock as a spare with a srewdriver "key"

Re: Removing locked petrol cap?
Did this tank come from the same bloke who sold Del Boy all those briefcases with the combination codes locked inside?
