NC30 Hub nut reuse - where to lockwire?
Hi all,
There are reuseable NC30 hubnuts out there - I think kyla (kayla?) does a drilled lockwire-ready nut. But .. what do you lockwire it to?
Anybody got a pic to share that shows their lockwired hubnut?
Many thanks,
Greg.

If you use kayla's hub nut you will need to drill threaded part of the axle and then either lock pin or lockwire it, theres no provision for it using a standard hub nut just stake it as per the haynes manual.

You needed two holes then (wire in and out)?

Righto. One hole and lockwire out to the edge. Got it.
Thanks! (and and I imagine it *is* very hard metal). :-)

Popped out to garage (yes, I known is is 1am locally - but some things are *important* :-) )
Not much room here. Looks pretty different to the pic above in terms of area on the threaded part to drill holes.
Any thoughts?

Re: NC30 Hub nut reuse - where to lockwire?
mmmmm. okay. Got me. Had another look at photo. Yes, probably the same. Been a long night - had two nights of shit sleep camping at the trackside campground at Phillip Island for the Oz MotoGP.
But last night at a restaurant I met the newly crowned Lorenzo as well as Jeremy Burgess. Vito Guareschi (Ducati team chief) was there also. Gotta love 'im.
Anyways, too many drinks and not enough sleep.
So before I spout any more verbal you-know-what and start pretending they actually remember the introduction ... off to bed dreaming of how those moto3 guys get around the island in sub-1:40. Holy crap that is fast.
zzzzz coming into turn one ... zzzz. bum off before braking, squeeze, down a cog, lean, careful on the ripples, gas ready for turn two ... zzzzzz

Will the paddock stand still go into the axle, wired that way?
You could lock wire the same way as the factory did the RC.
