Very quick question - rear disc removal
I wouldn't be asking this if I could find my blooming Haynes, god knows where about's it's hiding.
Can you remove and install a new rear disc without removing the rear hub?
If so, how?
Or, what's the easiest way to do this.
Thanks

Re: Very quick question - rear disc removal
Loosen hub nut before you remove the rear wheel, is tight! well it should be
Wheel off etc
Hub nut off, sprocket carrier blah blah
Remove rear brake gubbings and big retaining circlip
Remove axle from wheel side
Thats all from memory so may have missed something but thats it basically and im sure a man of your caliber can work out if ive missed something.
Hold on didnt you remove the axle when you changed the rear disc bolts for the PVM wheels?
Talking about PVM's if you get that far can you measure the specs of those special bolts for me, ive just bought another set

I didn't need to mate, I've got hands the size of a new born child so had enough room to do it whilst the axle was still installed.
PM me your address and I'll send the bolts over for you to copy, but I need them back in a couple weeks as my PVM's are going back on.

Re: Very quick question - rear disc removal
Have to confess, I thought the Haynes says you can do the 30 rear disc leaving the axle in place, but some difference along the line mans that it's not an option with a 35.

Re: Very quick question - rear disc removal
I can't remember exactly what the Haynes says, but something to do with clearances of particular bolt heads or something like that prevents it coming off the RVF without removing everything else first. Don't have a copy to hand, so I'll see if I can 'find' one to check.
