Re: New V4 engine?
I want a 90° V4 with FI in a new frame with a good suspension. And the bike must not have 180 ps.
Only a good Honda with flair of a rc30/rc45

Ref the `it`ll never sell at that price`type comments - I work at a main Honda dealership and within 2 days of Honda`s almost-announcement we received 4 confirmed orders for delivery as/when/if they become available...
(all from current or past RC30/RC45/NR750 owners)

People think they won't sell? If there even a limited production then I think even if you have the cash you will struggle to get one.RickOliver wrote:Ref the `it`ll never sell at that price`type comments - I work at a main Honda dealership and within 2 days of Honda`s almost-announcement we received 4 confirmed orders for delivery as/when/if they become available...

Re: New V4 engine?
Weren't things like the RC45 and R7 imported in numbers of little more than a couple of dozen per run to the UK? I seem to recall reading that when Yamaha made the first (and maybe only) batch of R7s, only 30 were officially assigned to the UK. How many batches of RCs did Honda make? From memory, for the rules of WSB the initial 500 only had to be supplemented by a further customer bikes if a significant change was made to the bike (Ducati did 200 of the Foggy rep version of the 916SPS because of some frame/airbox mods).
I've not done any research on my ZXR750R, but in the 10 years I've had it, I've only ever seen one of the model (K) for sale, less than half a dozen M models, and I've only seen a single M in the flesh. Having said that, I've seen a single R7, one or two RC45s and a single RC30.....

Of course they will sell, plenty of people in the UK that have to have the latest greatest machines and money to burn. If i had money to burn my name would be down for one too, dont think id be handing any money over until id atleast seen the spec or had a test ride. Im still doubtfull honda can produce anything to wet my whistle these days although id love to be proved wrong.

Just under 5000 RC30's were made between 1987 and 1990.
Over a 1000 stayed in Japan, around 500 each went to Switzerland, Germany, France and England (2000), the remaining 2000 were split amongst other other countries in a few hundred.

Re: New V4 engine?
That's a heck of a lot more than I expected! I guess rather a lot ended up road racing and got smashed to bits. There is a zero mile one on ebay for £40K, and one seller has a pic where they have lined up an RC30, RC45, GSX-R750SP, ZX-7RR and an OW01! Also got a couple of flavours of F4-1000 Tamburini editions, an NSR250, 748R, and others beside. I might have dribbled a bit....
