New chain time:- prices?

Post by leopard_pagan »

I am after a new chain but I keep getting kit prices!
I only want the chain on its own as the sprockets are fine.
Anyone know of a site that has a decent choice in chain types/prices?

you'll get the usual blags that fitting a new chain to old sprockets is a bad idea..so they want to sell you a kit..

reckon you can get a 525 chain in 108? (no idea for a CBR) for either sod all or loads.

B&C express
your local shop even?
Rick or Graeme can probably source them too..

You've been riding too long to be asking these Q's missus!

Hi lp, the cheapest i can see on ebay is around £36 an Izumi chain. Its good enough i think if your not changing sprockets as next time you will most likely have to replace the lot. Personaly i would go for a full DID kit. The one i have on has lasted around 22k so far and no signs of giving up, despite the fact its mostly high speed motorway work and i dont go mad cleaning the chain.

CMSMJ1 yep hence the "chain only" bit  .. but the usual places i get parts from only list kits..
Been too damn busy last 2 months with an event this saturday, so can concentrate on looking afterwards.
Izumi chains.. not a make i have heard of but have seen on flea bay.. i ride in all sorts and DONT  maintain my chain.. i know i know.. so my chains dont tend to last as long!
