Tri Arm Race bike - 15 years of development ....

Post by GF Racing »

Having taken 2012 out of the race scene ---- I had more time to finally develop my 2013 full F400 race Tri Arms.

The 2 bikes are now finished - wet / dry.

And yes the dry bike is a genuine 77 rear wheel BHP - more if I fit the HRC spec. Ignitech and fill with Race Fuel.

Many thanks to Chris Gunster and Chris Meyhew for their valuable help with this project.

See attached link for pictures.

Are they custom pistons Graeme? If so who do you get to make them? Do you also fit stronger custom rods?

And finally......how much does an engine like that cost?!!

I remember asking a while ago and Graeme said a full race engine iirc was around the £1500 mark
Been thinking about saving up and buying a race engine from GF myself

I suspect that is a bit more than your basic race engine

Well nice Grahame, I did have a mosey when I was picking up my wet from Ben! If I wasn't changing classes next year I'd be trying to get my engines a bit more powerfull. As I love the handling of my tri arm

Yes high compression custom pistons from USA .... then machined for valve clearance .... GF slotted Race cams .... .... everything carefully balanced .... Meyhew Head Porting .... all new shells / seals / NEW crank / std rods.

GF carb set up / GF Pipes.

100% nut / bolt chassis rebuild with Race Tech Suspension in both std. forks and CBR6 shock - everything from Race Spec wheel bearings / Castrol Race brake Fluid / Recon. Mag wheels.

£ ..... well not exactly cheap even doing most of it myself !!

Cheers

Graeme
