HRC water pump cover mod

Post by Drunkn Munky »

For those that have the HRC oil cooler setup what size pipes and fittings did you use? By fittings i mean the fittings you fit into the drilled and tapped holes in the cover.

I asked rick to make custom alloy ones as I couldn't find anything suitable online, and I gave him the cover to mod also as I haven't the tools or ability to do it myself.

I got two covers done, used one myself and gave one away to martin, which I don't think he used.

Are you going for it ?
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

On the HRC bike yes, everything is getting done as per the TT-F3 manual, that F3 rear linkage and shock setup is sooooo dam expensive tho :(

Im just about to order some bits with rick so will ask him if he has any fittings, cheers bud

Unless you a building a specific TT-F3 replica for replica sake rather than cost / power?

Since the 25 years or so it was designed there is quite a few other ways to get more power (G/force etc).

For me i'd fit the NC24 oil pump and drill the lower casing and fit an oil radiator.. there are many tasty options avaiable.

But if you are building a replica then that goes out the window :)

CDI, will settle for an ignitech now the problem with them is sorted
Linkage and shock, Nitron now make a specific shock for use with ricks TT-F3 linkage
Magteks, well proper sized ones anyway
Tacho and temp gauge

Quite a bit to be fair but atleast i have the heart of the beast ;) And yes i'll get you some fittings too if rick can supply them.

@Neo, The bike is being built to be a replica as such not for all out power although i am hoping the motor lives up to expectations and makes mid 70's

Between the two of us we have just about all the TTF3 parts then, I have all those parts you mention, just got this Mag wheel in the correct 4.5 x 18 size the other day to replace my RS250 one that ran the wrong way

ooo nice! its a shame we live complete opposite ends of the country we could have built a communal TT-F3 bike to share

Getting back to the cooler, do i have the right parts here :?

I assumed the bolt would hold the cooler to the engine but ive either got the wrong parts or im missing something bloody obvious

Spoke to rick regarding the pump cover spigots and they were a one off he did for rhory and understandably doesnt have time to reproduce at the moment so i shall look elsewhere, cant be that hard to find surely.

Also asked if the TT-F3 needles were any closer to being available but sadly not, production would cost £££'s and lets be honest he's not going to get a flood of people knocking his door down for them is he. Anyone have some FCR's they wanna sell me to play with for the meantime?

Ummm.... do you not remove the existing oil filter boss and use the one pictured with the oil cooler to clamp it to the engine?
