Loom covering

Post by speedy231278 » Mon Oct 08, 2012 4:25 pm

Where in the UK could I find a decent source of the pvc/rubber type tube that is used to protect the plug in parts of the wiring loom, such as the switchgear and stator? I'm struggling to find anything other than heatshrink stuff or woven fibreglass (which is incredibly expensive!). So far, all I've found on eBay is stuff from American, and as with the fibreglass stuff there's tons of it and it's not cheap.

I'd rather not wrap it with tape as I usually make a nasty, untidy job of it. Short of seeing how many blown up switchgear sets I can strip the stuff from I'm not sure where to find any. Surely someone on here from the UK has had to acquire some in the past?

http://www.printasleeve.co.uk/non-shrink-sleeving.asp

Their PVC stuff is good, from 1mm upto 25mm is avaiable.

Thanks! Looks promising, although no prices and standard supply appears to be 100 metres... lol I'll ask them if they'll supply rather less, otherwise I might end up hainvg to flog tons on eBay to make some money back!

Try "vehicle wiring products" for pvc sleeving.

As recommended above - http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu - rated in Practical Sports bike magazine.
I ordered some jap connectors and a crimp tool and was impressed by there products / service.

Hope they have what you need.
