power
When i purchased my NC30 it came with an ART can and had been on the dyno. the dyno graph reads 61hp. Is this good for a NC30? it also has had the speed unrestricted and the bike will rev to 15,000rpm redline. according to the dyno sheet the 61hp was reached between 13,000/13,500rpm. so is there any point reving the bike all the way to 15,000rpm? as it must cause more wear on the engine?
Is it worth using super unleaded? as these bikes must of been designed to run on 4 star which has a lot more octane than standard unleaded?

Re: power
Bikes were designed to run on 91 minimum UNLEADED petrol not 4 star.
Fuel choice would depend on set-up of the bike. Standard 95 unleaded should be fine.
Factory bhp was 59bhp @ 12,5000rpm, iirc. so your bike is making 2bhp more than factory.

Re: power
61bhp is healthy for an NC30 with an end-can. 12,500 to 13,500 is peak power for these bikes and no, it's not worth revving past there as you are only making noise. Using Super-Unleaded will probably give 0.000000001 bhp increase LOL On the books NC30's made 58 rear wheel BHP from the factory
You'll get a better return in horse-power with a properly adjusted chain.

Re: power
If you were racing, you always want to gear the bike for peak horsepower and not peak rpm. Having a bit of over-rev is good for some tracks/corners, but not necessary.

Re: power
i use permium as its suposidely better for the engine, (makes me feel like im raggin it less) and the nc is so cheep to run im not worried about the extra 60p per tank other standard
my bikes restricted to 33bhp for the while so im not bothered about the performance increase, I can still have my mate on his full power nc in the corners every time (as long as i know the road)

Re: power
I use the premium 97 RON in my NC31, as the increase in mpg saves me around £1 a tank, even taking into account the extra 50p over regular 95 RON.
Also, the premium fuels have detergents which clean (and then keep clean) all the fuelways in the carbs - I can tell the difference in terms of useable power, and the bike runs much cleaner than before I switched from regular to premium!
