NC30 Earths

Post by Sam-NI »

All the lights are a bit flickery on idle on my NC30. I'm thinking I may have a bad earth. Where are all the earthing points? I have some good cable, and some connecting tabs. I know some of you have made extra earths. Where are you wiring them to and from.

Cheers!

The earth wire in the loom is connected to the chassis just near the front ignition coil and the battery earth lead is connected to the chassis just below and forward of the battery, on the same side.

Recommend that you connect the -ve terminal of the rect/reg to the chassis as a way to improve the OEM wiring.

What battery voltage do you get at idle with lights on?

12.3 volts with my dip on, Only have one bulb, as i'm using a numberboard. I'll wire rec/reg neg straight to frame, as see what I get.

Over 13V on idle with lights, and far smoother. No flickering of the lights any more.

All hail king Magg!

Wiring genius!
