fzr4/6 hybrid pics

i have put the standard wheels back on for now as the rear astralite needs a 37 tooth sprocket so b&c are going to make me one and the front wheel spacers need turning down a few mm as their a little too wide for the forks, other wise apart from getting the temp guage to work properlyits as close to being done as it can be at the moment-cant wait to try it on track!!

Re: fzr4/6 hybrid pics
I would love to see some pictures and details of the mod. I've got a FZR600 3HE engine/CDI/loom but there's talk of having to use the FZR600 exhaust and modding it plus the 400 airbox & modding it, etc., etc.
What I would like is a list of parts required so I can se how many £ I would need to spend vs swapping the 3TJ for something bigger and adding some cash.

Re: fzr4/6 hybrid pics
i totted up the cost and it came in at a shade under £300 which i need to add £30 for A K&N filter.i reckon youd have to spend MUCH more than that to get a 170 kilo 90bhp bike with a chassis as good as a 3tj-alot more.all the other stuff like shock(£31 OFF E-BAY),gsxr calipers were 28.00 off e-bay,the brembo master cylinder was £80 from e-bay.in fact the more i think of it the more of a bargain it all is.i paid £600 for the sp and all the mods including the motor and the purchase price of the bike i reckon i havnt spent more than a grand for a bike with an amazing chassis that can hold its own in the fast group, looks like a miniture owo1 and now goes like stink-lovely-dont think aboutit-just do it
ps- i didnt include the astralites(£200) in the total as they were a pure indulgence and i couldnt help myself!
also dont think the 3he will go in a tj frame as the motor doesnt bolt to the frame spars like the fzr600r and 3tj (though i could be wrong)

Re: fzr4/6 hybrid pics
I've got the FZR600R engine with the top mounts. Maybe it's not a 3HE (brain like sieve).
You make a good case. My 3TJ has the 07 R6 shock (cheap from USA) and a FZR1000 EXUP front fork and R1 brake setup. I can't really fault handling or braking setup. I was just lagging behind when I went out with the litre bikes last week.
I'm so tempted to do the engine swap but want to make sure I've got all of the bits and knowledge before I start so I don't end up off the road for too long.
I've almost got my garage sorted sufficiently to get the 600 motor on the bench and see if it will run. I've also got carbs but forgot to mention that before.
I think all I need is the exhaust and airbox or air filters. I also need those engine mounting brackets and bolts. Does anyone on here make and sell those?

Re: fzr4/6 hybrid pics
Thats looking good. Those astralites look f*****g awesome. I want some!
I too can vouch doing the 6 conversion. Its not particularly costly. I paid £70 for the engine, £30 for the carbs, £30 for the cdi and £100 for the exhaust system. The frame handles the engine perfectly, the same sweet handling and fast corner speeds but even more grunt on the straights. Awesome!
Dont think about doing it, get on ebay and get the bits!
btw the 3he wont fit it has to be the 4jh fzr600r or thundercat engine. I can make some engine mount plates too if you need any!
