Fork rechroming
Ok trying to deliberate whether to rechrome my stanchions on my later type NC30 forks or is there anyone out there with some that don't need it! Which other NC models will be the same like the 29 maybe? Also recommendations for companies and cost at present they are completely stripped.

Re: Fork rechroming
My guess would be to find a local reputable electro platers and ask their advise.

It's not electroplating,I think it's metal spraying,
I use these probably one of the best around,

It's not spraying at all. It's a 3 stage plating process. First is a flash copper coat, then a nickel coat then finally the chrome coat.
Oh, and that website doesn't work

FWIW, I use Ashford Chroming in Kent

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Re: Fork rechroming
I wouldn't mind knowing about TiNi. My forks really need rechroming as despite my best efforts they're looking pretty sorry for themselves, and I need the seals doing on at least one, plus they haven't had the oil done in far too long. However, I did cheat for a short term solution, as I've just managed to snag a decent looking pair on eBay for less than the cost of having them sorted....
