Anyone know what this part is?
Found a bundle of insulation tape connected to a black/green/brown connector coming off the clocks whilst searching for a solution to my not getting a spark.
Unpicked the 'orrible tape and found this knackered lump of electrics inside:

Can anyone identify it? I think it looks like the speed limiter according to the wiring diagram. It's in 2 pieces and the circuit is broken. Not sure if it's a problem or not, whether it's causing my starting problem or not, whether it needs replacing or just binning.
Any ideas?

Smallest pic in the world but I do think it's the limiter. It gets removed like this so the disc never breaks the sensor and the bike never knows it's going above 180km/h.ianw wrote:Found a bundle of insulation tape connected to a black/green/brown connector coming off the clocks whilst searching for a solution to my not getting a spark.

You can also just as well fit a resistor, same difference really. Someone knows which spec, or just measure the resistance across black and brown and get a suitable resistor to match.

Strange, it should enlarge when you click on it, I'm sure it did when I first posted. Oh well, lets try again...

I disconnected it completely and took it out for a blast lastnight. Doesn't seem to affect things much, but didn't get chance to go flat out in top so still not sure if its limited. Revs freely up to 15k rpm anyway.
I was concerned that it might stop something working all together... apparently not.
