Me too, I was a bit disappointed more riders not turning up, I rode 60+ miles each way and got lost as wel (Sat mid afternoon)l! I asked at the pub (young ish patrons) and they hadn't heard of anything happening there, a chap about 45 said he thought he'd seen some 'biker types' and pointed me to the tents. Seemed empty and if I may say not particularly welcoming so I went to SkegVegas instead. I even messaged on FB what time i was turning up. Jo I think it's a great idea to arrange something like this, perhaps a deposit or something to 'encourage' people who show an interest to show up?
I know you have to be careful to keep it fun, maybe a meet at an event might work better? (Bike night, race event, bike museum)
Also, just a thought, but how about a survey of 'where' in the country the event should be?

What about a show combining 400's and 2 strokes to get a bigger audiance?

Some good points Worther. Nothing wrong with the venue. Well known bike event friendly pub, free camping, band, £3 a pint and good food similarly priced too. It seems those that did go were spread thoughout the weekend. Maybe an evening event with camping and a ride out or whatever the next day would have focused the numbers? Its always easy to comment with 20-20 hindsight and someone else having done the work tho. I went on my bike, had a good ride out, met some good people and had a nice warm night ride home with no traffic and the little rvfs drone for sounds.

Just wanted to say that I agree with the points James listed above...I'm sorry if my post appeared to be critical that wasn't my intention. Jo should be commended for all the effort she put it, I know what's involved is arranging something like this and it's not easy. I am still keen on the idea of a 'meet up'.
I don't get to ride often (health issues & young twins) and I'd 'booked' the Saturday for a bike daylong in advance. Although I didn't get to meet anyone (although thought I saw an RVF at a petrol station in Skeg town centre), I had a truly great ride (my furthest and best for 7 years) in great weather...so if I didn't mention it before "Thanks Jo" for making it happen!
