Should it stay or should it go now?
Hi guys, a few of you know me quite well on here so I hope this doesn't come across as just trying to kill an NC, I love the bikes and desperately like another.
Anyhoo I have been offered one on a K plate but due to the way it's presented, mostly in a box I think it would be easier to break it down and sell off all the bits. It's been used as a track bike but was stripped down to make back into a road bike again, it has both types of fairing (fibreglass) and a few tricked out bits with it, like a HRC box, sports exhaust system and a tidy looking rear shock(not sure what it is though) as well as all the original parts to go with it.
My question is do I strip down the bike and break it up? I don't know if I can do it, I've never done it before as I believe all bikes deserve to ride on. Help my peeps, what should I do.

I'll swap you for confectionery of your choice if you can't bring yourself to do it
FWIW, my belief is that if one sacrifice can keep a dozen others on the road then it's worth it.

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

I'd assess what is needed to get it back on the road, draw up a list, most parts will be available from guys on here..
If it seems too much then part it out....
I dont have any faberge eggs but have an unlimited supply of cream eggs

It doesn't need anything other than putting together again. The fairings are ok but nothing to write home about. The hassle of mot, tax and paint etc
I really am starting to think break and get the right one that comes along.

get it more or less together and sell it if its cheap enough for you to make something on - let someone else have the hassle of mot and tax, you just get your spanners out and do what you can.
depends what your paying for a load of parts though. IMO there will be something up with it, thats why its stripped..

Re: Should it stay or should it go now?
Shh funny you should say that. The fairings were stripped off to get at the exhaust as it has a snapped stud so slightly blowing, then put to one side and lost interest as he has another bike now.
What he is willing to take for it is more than I wanted to pay so my first option is strip and sell all the bits as its a good solid bike but tatty as fuck fairings and am not interested in replacing them.
Who needs a HRC box a hi flo filter and a truck load a bits eh?

The HRC box will sell for £100+ on the evil bay.
