Hi Everyone,
I'm in the middle of stripping my bike down to fit a very tasty full Tyga system and have a query before I end up with the bike in any more pieces than it already is! I've taken off the fairings and removed the bottom radiator to give room to work. I've given it a good clean out to the fins etc as it was well caked up whilst it was off. I've removed the front pipes and the rear pipes and now just have the rear manifold to go.
First the daft question! The manifold does need to come off for the full system? Stupid I know but I wanted to double check. Secondly, how much of the rear end is it best to remove to get at where it joins the rear cylinders? I'm removing the shock and linkages (getting a jack up kit from Rick), rear wheel and would like to lift the rear subframe out of the way a little without disconnecting it all with it having the rear brake resevoir, coolant overflow and bits and pieces of electrics in there. Is it possible to do this or should it be fully removed?
I'm doing an oil and filter change whilst its apart too and once its back together I'll jet the carbs and get it set up on the dyno.

Rear manifold out for a full tyga sys,
If your in the habbit of removing stuff, shock, wheel, subframe, mudguard/under tray will make it easier,
However i fitted mine with just the wheel off and a few universal joints on my rachet

Just worried about the subframe due to all the bits and pieces connected to it. Can it be 'swung' out of the way by removing the mounting bolts and moving it up/across sufficiently or should I bite the bullet and disconnect everything.
The shock and wheel is no problem, I'll have them off in a jiffy but the undertray gets in the way big style.

just leave the sub frame in situe, i had to in any case when i changed shock and swingarm first time round as i use the sub frame to hold the arse up as i didnt have a abba stand, but youll be fine shock and linkages will help,
but to be honest i think youll need the exhaust off to make easier access to the linkages, so its a catch 22 really.

Done my vfr with a tyga system last week socket set extension and knuckle joint took rear sets off and disconnected the radiators that's all it needed... Another pair of hands are always best though

We have success!! Didn't need to remove the rear wheel in the end. Dropped the shock and linkages out, removed the right hand footpeg assembly and heat shield and had plenty of room! Yeh sure!! Not too bad in the end though so thanks for all the input. Dropped the oil and filter today too so thats another job done. I've posted the linkages and rocker to Rick to change for a jack up kit etc so when that comes back I can crack on rebuilding the bike.
Rick if you see this I will give you a ring to arrange payment tonight hopefully.

Just by way of finishing the thread off I thought I'd let you know the outcome of the final set up etc. Bike is fully back together and bike now and sounds sweet!! Took it to Dynobike today for final set up on fueling and dyno etc. Well chuffed with the outcome with a lovely smooth torque curve, fueling spot on now and dyno showing 60.5 horses, well chuffed!! Carbs have been balanced as well as they were well out. I had a 50 mile ride home afterwards and it went very nicely indeed. I've fitted Rick's jack up kit at the same time which has made a big difference so just need a trackday now for a proper play.
