Grownups aren't allowed in my garage. They get too practical and take the fun out of my stupid ideas...

I'll hit up the local radiator shops to see if any are willing to play along. If I screw it up it looks like they aren't too hard to replace off eBay.

Sorry, forgot to answer your question Cajun. The airbox AFAIK is a 1st generation BDK unit that came with the collection of parts I've pressed together into a bike. I can only assume it is as I'm not aware of any other carbon ram air setups for the bike, and I know it's not the 2nd generation they're advertising now as the ram scoop doesn't match the pictures on their site.

Hrmmm... bigger fish to fry, my radiator is only mounted on the top, which means the bottom is JUST touching the left hand exhaust header. That seems like a vibration induced leak waiting to happen but I don't see any where to anchor a lower radiator mount.

Look at one thing and you find new problems to solve other than the one you're working on, d-oh!

Make an ally braket (I use L section from a DIY shop LeylandSDM) give yourself a mill clearance drill and fit.

Hi, could you not use a car coil pack off a four cylinder car and get some universal leads and cut to length? Remember if you use on plug coils in series they will only be getting 6volts instead of 12, will prob still work ok tho.
Cheers

Figured I'd fire off an update, no real progress at the moment. My other Yamahas have been taking up my wrenching time and money.

I was able to determine that my brake lines are in fact ok, it's the fork seals that are blubbering and causing the oil spill I keep finding. They'll be sorted shortly, I get to then see if I need new pads and rotors afterwards. D-oh!

I've got a lower radiator stay plotted out on paper, just need to bend some metal to put it into execution. I've been trying to get my hands on some cheap as in free CBR coil sticks for mock up duty and failing, so it looks like I'll have to eBay a set to move forward.

I'm really curious now how much I can trim the frame brace panel the coils mount to for intake clearance without impacting the bike. Has anyone got first hand experience with that kind of modification?

More random notes. First, it doesn't look like my tank and airbox are BDK units. BDK didn't recognize the fill cap on the tank and the airbox seems rougher than any pics I can find of their units. Similar design, but not quite a perfect match.

I don't believe my radiator is OEM either, it's missing the lower radiator stay mounts the parts fiche shows, hence no lower brackets, aka why it's resting on the pipes.

Radiator stay fabricated and mounted. One problem down.
