New regulator?
Ive just bought my mates nc, its stood for a while so new battery and fuel and were running.
I measured the battery voltage when running and it was 17v!
I checked the regulator connections etc and its all good.
Is it time for a new regulator?

Re: New regulator?
what was the revs at when giving 17v? Usually run it up to 5k and see what you get.

Re: New regulator?
Dont run your bike again until you get a new reg/rec or you will fry your nice new battery and could damage the cdi.
at 5k it should show between 13-14v, if its showing 17v on idle then it will more than likely be around the 20v mark at 5k so will defo fry everything, trust me i did the same and it fried my new battery and my cdi

Running a charged battery or a bike at all for even a relatively short time at 17+ volts will cause you issues and boil your battery. Get a new regulator on there.
