ZZR 400 Engine parts
Hi my name is Tienie van Graan and i live in South Africa.
I need new piston rings and big end bearings for my ZZR 400 K. In South Africa the parts is very expensive . Is the parts cheaper somewere els and what will the cost be. I would appreciate a web site to go to for my parts. My engine number is ZX400KE000232 and chassis number is ZX400K-000229. I also noticed that my engine have flat pistons and other models have piston with valve pockets why the difference.

Re: ZZR 400 Engine parts
hi i know this is a late reply but have you looked at japanwebike perhaps? big ends might be abit hard to get but they normally have pistons available. im not the most educated on the kawasaki 400's but would the zzr engine be a detuned version of the ZXR 400?
i hope this helps abit Kennon

Hi. Thanks for the reply, but i already found parts from the local Kawasaki dealer but i had to pay the PRICE.
Why do i get a better top speed in 5 gear than in 6 gear.

Re: ZZR 400 Engine parts
gearing, not enough power to pull top gear
go up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket or down one at the front (bit extreme that)

Re: ZZR 400 Engine parts
Thanks.
Will try it when changing chain and sprockets, and that should be soon. You see i do a lot of long distance travel here in South Africa with long and open roads and hardly ever traffic police to check your speed. The guys with the big bikes travel sometimes up 300 KMH where the road permits it. I travel the max what my bike will give me and that could be up to 210 KMH and i keep it there. What a fantastic high reving motor.
Cheers.
