NC30 mirror stay screw problem
I'm talking about the rivnut type things that are in the frame sides you use them to bolt the mirror stay and infill panels to the frame.
Mine are turning within the frame so I cant tighten the brackets up.
Has anyone ever had this and been able to resolve it?
Cheers
Kris

Only option I can see there is knock em out and fit new ones. Not sure how you'd get it out without dropping it inside the frame tho.

I can't see how they secure to the frame, otherwise I would try and get them out and replace them. I'm a bit stumped!

They work just like a rivet, put em in and use the tool to expand them

Re: NC30 mirror stay screw problem
I've had the same issue on several bikes. I remove the RivNut and replace it with a threaded insert bedded into metal putty. Like this:

I think I've got some M6 in stock. PM me your address if any of those are any good. Can't remember if the mounting bolts are M6 but you can always replace the bolts anyway. If not, I should be able to get hold of some M8 ones.

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Re: NC30 mirror stay screw problem
If you can get a bolt into it with a washer on, you should be able to extract it with a modified bearing puller. If it's not damaged, just re-fit it with metal putty and leave it for 24 hours before torquing up
