plastic fairing repair

hi guys

have got some original fairings but theyre in bad shape needing deep scratches filling, several cracks and breaks and some missing lugs/ brackets

can anyone supply an idiots diy guide to repairing these ???

there are a couple of vids on youtube how to do it, ive just bought a kit called plastex to do mine, aint used it yet but looks not to difficult,

I used plastex on mine for making lugs etc, it's a piece of piss. Comes with instructions, but as said, YouTube has a couple of vids. A dremel is recommended, as it sets harder that the fairing it's attached to and can be a bitch to sand smooth.

Hi go get yourself a soldering iron,buy some abs rods and have a go at hot welding.Have a practice on some scrap plastic .This is very good for strengthening weak points inside all panels. :rocks:

plastic weld and plastex after, strong as fook.

will try cable ties as fillers rod cos think theyre similar material

and wouldnt know where to buy ABS derr....
