RC45 Wheel on NC35

Hey guys,

Just curious to know if anyone has fitted an RC45 wheel to an NC35 before?

From what I've ready, it is 5.75" wide instead of the standard 4.50".

I would really love a Dymag or similar for my bike, but I have found an RC45 wheel for $300 (AUD), which is fairly cheap from what I gather. Don't really want to spend any more than that.

Would there be a benefit to fitting this? Or is it just stupid and would completely ruin the handling?

If it is worth fitting, what other mods would I have to do? I am guessing I would need a spacer for both sprockets at the least, but not too sure on what else.

I think the Tyga carbon RVF has an RC45 rear wheel. From what I remember reading, they had to machine the wheel boss, the swingarm, make custom spacers for the wheel and gearbox sprocket (presumably to avoid the chain colliding with the wheel), and other jiggery-pokery. I think the RC45 wears a 190 rear, so that's going to cost a small fortune to start with, and probably make the steering really slow, at a guess.

About a third of the way down. Interestingly they stuck a 160 on the back. Sounds like a lot of work, much of it irreversible without buying new bits.... Result looks good, mind you! :-)

Ahh ok! I was just reading that off the Tyga website.

From what's written on there I would need to:
-Shorten rear disc bolt heads
-Wheel spacer to clear swingarm and chain
-Turned down securing nut spacer to get the R clip in
-Change bush on pivot arm
-Spcaer for the front sprocket

Doesn't seem like too much work, I would just need to get some spacers made up.

They have a 160 tyre on there as well, (got a 160 here already).

Other than slowed steering, would anything else be affected?

Ahh you got to it first!

I agree it looks great, although if I was to do it, it probably wouldn't look as good as it won't be carbon, or have only 5 spokes.

Don't want to sound argumentative, but here's proof. Does seem odd that it's only 10mm bigger than stock yet the wheel is an inch and a quarter wider.... lol

I actually thought the same, but there's the Tyga one for starters, and then there's this I found on eBay:

Which apparently a 160 will fit onto (5.5" ducati rim).

If I still use a 160 the steering shouldn't slow too much should it?

I got a quote on the standard RVF750 wheel of $300AUD or about 200 GBP, which I don't think is too bad.

Mate if you can get me one of these wheels please i would pay well for it
i got one on my RC30 and its a seriously tight fit and the tyre rubs the arm even spaced slightly.
