Minor Strip down... what to do while I'm there

Post by nickisokay » Wed Jul 18, 2012 1:05 pm

Hi all,

Recently got myself an NC30 and I've spent a little fortune on new bits.
Fairings, exhaust system, oil, cleaning products etc.

The bike has 19,000 miles and rides nicely - everything seems sweet.

In the next couple of weeks (when my fairings arrive) I'm going to strip it down a little and have a good clean and tidy up while fitting the exhaust, oil & filter, fuel tank and fairings.

Question is - while I'm there is there anything else I should do? Don't want to go too overboard but would like it to be tidy and run super sweet!!

I'm going to be taking lots of pics of the progress too.

Cheers,
Nick

clean the outside of the engine properly
do the valve clearances
service the carbs properly
service the bearings and linkages
clean the water pump
fit a Rick Oliver earthing kit < one of the guys you'll be in touch with I am sure!
new brake fluid
cleaned chain
clean out the hub

take some pics and read a few articles on here already - stuff in the members bikes and rides section - rebuilds and so on..

Have fun riding it...

That last point is the most important one! Of course if the weather is shite you can do the other stuff too ;)
