here i am again,
i seem not to have peace with this cooling system...
i drained the old liquid and fill with water and the Holts cooling system flush before putting new coolant.
did few miles with it and suddenly now i have a big leak underneath the water pump, seems like coming from the junction between pump and engine...
i was flushing the system as the previous owner had put a lot of radweld in it, now i know why !!
shall i open the water pump cover and inspect??

Re: leak underneath water pump
Yes, get it open. There is one o-ring that goes behind the pump, and one o-ring that keeps the halves of it water tight. Either one could have dried out and cracked. But be sure the leak isn't dripping down from higher. There are also small seals on the two metal hoses on the sides of the engine.
Might as well get both in stock to replace if the leak is at / around the pump.
