I just assumed it was this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbi ... 689373.htm
as the miles match and the price almost matches.

That does look pretty ordinary if it's the op bike.sil3nt wrote:I just assumed it was this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbi ... 689373.htm

Re: How many miles has your NC30 done?
if it is that one..then yes, it is shit!
My NC30 - no9 - Well..I got it with 16k KMs on it... Have done 50+ trackdays on it and it was my sole motorised transport for some time. Got it into the 40k+ miles and the big ends made some alarming noises.
Have now got another motor in it..expecet to get another load of miles fomr it, but as I won't be trackdaying or commuting on it - I expect this will last me some time. The OEM motor will be reshelled and I'll then expect another 60+k miles out of it.
Big end failure is one of the most common failures - keep your oil sorted and be sure to listen to the bike.
Mine just started tapping and knocking, the motor still runs (was at Donny trackday) You see people on here revvin gthe tits off the bikes asking "can you hear a tapping?"
They should rev and idle lovely - sweet, smooth. You'll know a dud if you hear it, so don't rush in!

Um, now that I think about it... that's possibly the one I'm talking about.
(mention any NC30 in NZ and someone knows the exact bike).....
I realise the paintjob on that particular example is average (and the engine as yet unknown...), but tbh I prefer the darker colours to the classic white, blue & red.
My choice of factory colours....
Maybe I should grab the former and then do a rebuild to match the latter

Re: How many miles has your NC30 done?
I'm not picking on whether the bike is a good looker or not (they can always be prettied up), just that it points to neglect on behalf of the owner which wouldn't fill me with confidence for many other parts.
Best thing to do is go and take a look/ride.
