nc30 carbs on an nc29

Post by dynamek » Mon Jul 16, 2012 12:24 am

hey there
was just wondering about two things. my nc29 carbs have no trumpets. is this normal? bad? what do the trumpets actually do?
also there is a local guy selling a set of nc30 carbs, will any of those parts fit the nc29 carbs? i.e needle jets, float valves? need a set of each and wondering if its worth buying them?
cheers!!

Expect graham france will have trumpets. I had two short ones from him a few months back.
For best results the consensus is to use four short ones 8-)

from what i understand they increase air intake?

dunkenb - would absence of them lead to the rich running in my nc29? or is it not a big enough factor?

They increase the speed of the air into the carbs, not sure what effect not having them will have. But guessing it may affect the flow into the small brass inlets , i would definately get some. Maybe e-mail graham france ( gf racing) with an enquiry about buying a set and ask his advice as i'm not 100% sure. 8-)
