Post by leef82 » Sat Jul 14, 2012 1:04 pm

hello, im going to be ordering renthal sprockets and tzubaki chain soon, and ive noticed people going for 520 conversion, whats the pro's and cons for both 520 and 525 and what am i best to go for as the bike is going to be used for road and track? also should i stay on standard gearing?

I went for a 520 with a 14 tooth front sprocket when i last changed mine. Bike picks up quicker, chain is lighter. Win all round.

Only downside is you'll need to maintain the chain a little more than with a 525. Give it a lube once a fortnight and you'll be right.
It don't matter if i'm fixin' it or ridin' it.

Changed to a 520 few months back and there wasnt a real noticable diffrence, however it is a bit cheaper than going for 525 c&s.

I prefer a 520 chain for a 400 bike
