Rear Brake Disc Bolts
My rear brakes on my NC30 are standard. I just need to know what size the allen key is used on the heads of the Rear brake disc bolts? Wanting to fit some magnets inside the allen key heads for a speed sensor. Thankyou

So they 8mm allen key heads then mate? Would 8mm circular magnets fit in them or would i be better with 7mm or maybe even 6mm? Thanks.

I reckon a 7mm will probably be a tight fit, think id still glue it in tho. Can i ask why your bothering? whats wrong with the stock speedo pick up?

Its for my gear indicator, it requires an electrical speedo signal lol. Cool so 7mm should be ok glued in mate?

Re: Rear Brake Disc Bolts
The thread is 8mm dia, so the head will be at least 10mm dia ish,
The size of the allen Key as per your original post is an A6 key, which will be a 6mm hex.
Im not sure how the magnets are shaped when supplied but hope this extra advice helps.

Re: Rear Brake Disc Bolts
Ah right thankyou, so ill probably try a 5mm circular magnet to go in the 6mm allen key head. I dont think a 6mm magnet would go in lol, im getting a low profile hall effect sensor to mount on the rear brake caliper nounting plate to read the magnet. Do yous think glueing a 5mm magnet will go into the 6mm hex holeporndoguk wrote:The thread is 8mm dia, so the head will be at least 10mm dia ish,

You could always change a bolt for something more suitable to glue on.g1b50n wrote:Ah right thankyou, so ill probably try a 5mm circular magnet to go in the 6mm allen key head. Re: Rear Brake Disc Bolts
What happens when you need a new brake disc? It can be shocked out can it? Surely someone makes a magnetic tipped bolt?
