Re: nc30 carbs
Carbs are a pig to get back in, a bit of well applied brute force should do it. If they aren't budging then I've heard of people using red rubber grease to help them in.
As for the fuel filter I don't know, but someone else will

Re: nc30 carbs
iv heard inline filters can mess around with the vacum etc mate, so dont bother, there is a filter in the tap on the tank plus more on the carbs i think..... someone will have to correct me if thats wrong.
as for the rubbers, as said, can be a twat, i found heating them up helped.

Re: nc30 carbs
i used a plastic faced mallet & a flat head screwdriver to persuade the carbs back on.

Re: nc30 carbs
push the fronts most of the way in and use a old blunt flat bladed screwdriver to lever the rears in , then give a good push down on all four to seat them in properly , make sure the upper clamps are loose enough to allow the rubbers to expand as the carbs try to plop in , there is a knack to it. first time i did it it seemed to take forever with loads of shouting and throwing things , but now i can get them off rejet them and put them back on in under 20 mins
edit; old rubbers make the job harder as they become solid , new ones are much softer and make the job 10x easier

Re: nc30 carbs
RVF rubbers are a direct fit, you dont need a fuel filter theres already one built into the tap.

Re: nc30 carbs
Perhaps your filter has a tear in it. Drop the tap out of the bottom of the tank and take a look
