TT-F3 undertray question...

Post by lukemillar » Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:31 am

For those who have modded/hacked their NC30 undetray to the spec in the TT-F3 manual.....

What did you do with the CDI? Mine failed at the weekend because it got wet. Just wondering if there is a tried and tested spot to move it to?

Plan B is to just seal it in a sandwich bag and zip tie it to the subframe!

Thanks
Luke

I hope it was an HRC spec sandwich bag!

I turned the reg/rec bracket round and zip tied it there

I still have a reg/rec sitting there I don't have a coolant reservoir on the other side anymore so I might try tying it there. I think I'm going to combine that with the bag though as I still don't rust it. I got frickin spray everywhere!

Is that a monkey bike catch tank? Whereabouts did you get it? I can find about 10 different ones and am not sure which is good/crap as they seem to vary in price a lot!

Wouldnt the CDI get hot in a sealed bag????

Its a POSH branded catch tank from ebay, has that outlet on the bottom that i'll fit a drain too and theres 2 at the rear top side, 1 to vent the crankcase and 1 as a breaher to exit out the back.

Does a CDI actually get warm though? I don't know, but I'd guess that if it does heat up, it wouldn't be by a lot as the VFR's CDI is pretty much sealed away at the back of the bike with very little air-flow, unlike the reg/rec. I may be wrong, but it's mean the jiffy bag method would work.
