Pillion Seat latch

Post by losVFR »

When I purchased my VFR, I didn't pay any attention to the pillion seat, it was there, so what else do you need to know? Well, when I got it home, I tried to take it off and see what was under there. It turns out somebody cable strapped the seat to the subframe, and that was a royal pain in the ass to figure out. When I did get it off, I looked at the assembly. The key assembly is there, which touches a bar that pulls a cable, which runs to where I reckon there should be another assembly that latches onto the pillion seat hook. I'm missing the second assembly, and I have no idea what it looks like. Do I have to get a new subframe or does someone know what this part should look like? Perhaps someone has one that they don't need?

No it's a small block with a catch that screws into the subframe from the top subframe mount. The cable attaches to that block.

I might have one in my box of bits will look tomorrow.

That's a great site. Part 10 is exactly what I need in the seating section. I'm hoping someone has one. Thanks for the link.
