Newbie needing help and parts - 3TJ
Hi Guys,
I have had a 3TJ1 for a few weeks now, i bought it as a project, so have been working on it. working out what I need and what problems I have.
I also need some help
I bought a new clutch cable as mine is broken and siezed solid. The one i got delivered is about 20cm's to short but the right fittings - total length about 90cm. I routed it the same as the previous one, and it will never reach. Does anyone know what cable it is i have and what it is that i need. I need one that is about 110cm.
Another small issue is the airbox, currently its off and i have tried putting it back on, but it just doesnt want to go. Any advice?
A pic of the bike

thanks

The carb rubbers and clutch cable - go for genuine parts from Fowlers in Bristol (you need to quote your frame number before they'll serve you.
Rear seat footrest and hangers are cheap and fairly common because they get taken off for racebikes - put an Ad in the For Sale / Wanted section see the yellow banner under the thread heading
Stator casing - expensive for what it is but 4JH 600 DON'T fit, well the pickup cable comes out in a different place so you'd need to mod it. If yours is scratched fill it with liquid metal sand it back (with a power sander) and paint it with 5 wheel silver
Top fairing .... I sold one on the bay that I'd repaired it wasn't perfect but it was good that went for £92. I can probably repair yours if you want

Hi, thanks for the help.
Yeh i noticed the yellow banner, so I posted in the wanted section also,
this is my stator casing!

I could possibly TIG weld it, but I think its to far gone!
I will give Fowlers a ring. They sound useful, thanks
and I will keep a look out for the other parts I need.
My top fairing isnt to bad, just abit of filler and a rub down and it should be ok. I think i will see how it goes and maybe buy one later on.

It's been down on both sides then, hmmm.
There's a bodykit on the Bay at the moment - bid high and late it could tidy the whole bike up

Im watching the whole kit on ebay, out of my price range this time.
I have a plan for the body work, which is in motion, but i will come to that another time lol.
Yeh is has been down both sides, not great i know, but everything seems straight, and mainly unharmed.
