Re: Some advice needed re this bike
Thats some fantastic advice - I am not in a rush to buy but considering they were local (to my mum+dad) I figure they mightve been worth a look. The question is how far I would be prepared to travel for something "perfect" (not perfect so to speak, but you know what I mean), as I would have to request my licensed+insured friend come with me to ride it back (or convince pops to bring a van). I suppose for something that is exactly what I am after I can justify it! Did i mention this would be my first bike? Probably not
(it will be)
Im probably not capable of restoring on my own without some experience mechanically (I can remove and reattach bits and pieces of bodywork to my car and I understand the theory behind the mechanics but I have never dug around within them myself)
Ultimately Id like to tinker myself (I have been reading the guides on here for carb mods over and over again) but I would like to find something that wont need me to strip it right down in order to fix every 100 miles
I am reasonably clueless about bikes in general other than what I have read extensively over the last few months so all of your advice is invaluable, thankyou again.
