How should a NC30 behave when restricted to 33bhp?
FINALLY got round to fitting new o-rings and overhauling the carbs to stop them leaking after about 6 months, Passed my test... not just got to put it all back together...
The bikes restricted with washers, and over about quarter throttle it bogs down, is this the restrictors doing there job or is something wrong?
Thanks, Laurence

nahh it should pull clean but you'll find the bike tops out around the 105mph mark, it will struggle to rev over 11-12000rpm tho

You need to make sure the jetting is also adjusted - it will be far too rich by the sound of it.

Mines restricted to 33bhp, pulls really well up to about 10k revs, then the power just drops off.
And yeah I haven't got more than 105 out of it either.
I probably should have adjusted the jetting, my exhaust can I've had on for all of about 200 miles looks quite black and sooty inside already
What would you recommend to adjust too? I.e standard intake and exhaust except from slip on can and no rubber flap.
(sorry for the thread jack)

No worries for thread jack! I also need to know haha... Been out thismorning and put the airbox and filter back on and it revs a lot more freely now, But almost sounds as if the revs are limited at around 8krpm...
Also, Changing the jets around, would it be easier just to get rid of the restrictor washers and put a throttle stop where it needs to be? what would be the pro's and cons of throttle stop v restrictor?

You cannot get it to rev without the airbox on? Put it to how it should be, then ride it.
Revving it in neutral as hard as you can is a bad call.
Re stop vs washers - doesn't matter..but I doubt you'll get it dyno'd to find out either way will you?

Re: How should a NC30 behave when restricted to 33bhp?
when i first picked up my bike it was restricted , standard cut system with an art can running 115/118 jets , within a month i changed to a TSR half system but also my restriction was up so i whipped out the washers and at the same time upped the jetting to 118/120 , bike ran fine in both cases (now running TSR Ti sp1 style with 125 jetting all round, yet to dyno it )

Would it be worth checking what jets I've got in the carbs then? And I need to get it on a dyno anyway to check it is 33bhp

mine bogs down from a standing start a bit when trying to pull off quick but then pulls clean up to 11k revs ish. This is an RVF mind
