I have mine for 8 years now, NC29 from 1990. Bought it with 17000km, now it just turns over 78000km. I use it mainly for long trips around the country, holiday trips and circuit riding, i don't spare it but it gets it's attention on service. It doesn't use any oil between changes and still pulls strong. Around 60k still puts out a healthy 67,5 bhp on the backwheel (note: fitted with dyno jet kit, K&N filter and pipes from graeme france)

I will never sell it and i think it will go over the 100.000 with no problems. Treat it gently with a cold engine, change it's oil regularly, replace the alternator with an aftermarktet (burnt two orginals) and also keep track of the rectifier and you will have a smile for years!

and yes i do most my own servicing & look after my bike.... buuuuuut i dont always go easy on a cold engine... i have owned my bike for just over 10 years... so majority of its use i did.

are you having a laf so you'v done a hundred thousand miles or km's on your bike, that makes my bike look nealry barnd new

There are people in this world that actually RIDE their bikes every single day.
i have owned my NC29 for TEN years come September, my NC29 is TWENTY ONE YEARS OLD. i have replaced a generator/alternator, water pump, clutch, stater motor, Fuel pump, head race bearing, 3 sets of wheel bearings, loads of fork seals, 1 stater relay, 3 rear mono shocks (ex-fat bastard syndrome killed 2), had 2 nose cones, 2 side panels, 2 lower panels due to accident, 2 speedos (odometer reset to dead ones klms), rear lights now LED, lost count on spark plugs/chains/sprockets & several Reg/Recs/Batterys, 2 Clutch cables, 1 choke cable & throttle push/pull maybe next!, My bike has only ever had ONE official service to which the shims didnt even need adjusting!
I have commuted every day since i bought it, gone to rallys, bike shows, 100s of miles in one weekend is common.

so yeah, my bike has seen a feck lot of mileage and will continue to see far more as i have NO intention of getting rid of it any time.. or ever in fact.. this bikes mine till its crashed beyond repair & i am dead!

im not surprised that they drove that many miles just that the cbr400 lasted that many miles, i also ride my bike pretty much every single day, even if im in my house for the whole day i still get an itiching to get out on my bike once the weather aint too bad of course. thats a hell of alot of work on your bike sounds like some real bike love rit there , i have mine since February its me first bike so far iv only done chain and sprockets, it needs new throttle cables and brake pads so thats next on the list once i get a bita money together also needs a new left hand control box which im having difficulty finding
