fan manual switch location

Post by peppiiino »

Hi all,
i want to fit a manual switch on the radiator fan, i read some threads and it seems very easy, however i'm not sure where would be the best location

To who has this switch, where did you put it?
i'm looking for somewhere on the radiator, since i can earth the wire to the top bolt on the left of the rad, otherwise next to the choke in the handle???

cheers for that, that's interesting...

well i would switch it on at the traffic light, more less is the same movement as when you put the reserve on, or i may fit it next to the fuel tap...
it's just to have less wiring around as possible....

i went to maplins, does it have to be a 12v switch or even others would work??

I used less then 30cm lengths of wire cause mines literally right above where the actual fan temp sensor is

N19cl is the code from maplin its £0.99p any switch will do there all rated to 240v around 2-6amp

I used to work there :) lol

If its an illuminated switch it shud say ACC and it will be a +ve for the illumimation , if you ignore it the switch will still work just not light up

Or some switches like toggle will be on - off - on your centre will be your earth then a positive on each side for say lights and a horn etc lol

hi,
i just found this on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Han ... 2410360481

i was looking for something very small, almost hidden, however this seems good, easy to reach and very easy to install, i just didn't want anything too big in the handlebar...

i may go for this at the end...

Aslong as it fits on the bars then yh if thats what you like , easy enough to wire in too

Just will it fit spacewise next to your switchgears?

I thought about it , i changed my mind, it would fit but it looks huge on the handlebar...

i'm trying to spot another place, if i manage somehow to fit it right next to the fuel tap it would be perfect, using a switch like yours. Somehow put the switch in a appropriate little box and clamp it to the fuel tap.....
