Headlight Issues
So I failed Roadworthy (MOT) for dim headlights. I must start by saying the whole headlight unit is aftermarket like something that would fit Tyga fairings. Upon inspection I see that the bulbs are small 18w halogens. I have now bought the 55/60w H4's as well as the Relay (30A okay?) but these bulbs are now twice the size of the old ones and have a much bigger fitting at the back. I know it will be easier when I add pictures but I thought maybe someone knows a mod to make them work? Bear in mind I think the fitting for these 18w is probably different to the original 35/60w fitting as well.
Also I dont have any front side lights, where should they be and where should I put them? I bought 5w bulbs for this, are they okay?

I never had the original casing but I guess that's where I will have to make mine fit, hope this 5w bulb works. Haynes says 1.7 for Jap but Honda manual says 5w or 4w or something

Re: Headlight Issues
UK and JDM bikes have different bulbs, they don't fit the other bike either.RegionX wrote:I never had the original casing but I guess that's where I will have to make mine fit, hope this 5w bulb works. Haynes says 1.7 for Jap but Honda manual says 5w or 4w or something
The sidelights for both UK and Japanese bikes are at the bottom of the headlamp in the centre..
The main headlights are 35/60w for Japanese bikes and 55/60w for UK.
20amp or higher relay is fine

Re: Headlight Issues
Cool so relay is good but do I have to buy a new "socket" to fit the new H4's into? At the moment I have a spring loaded twist in thing that is far too small..... Can I not connect the wires directly to the spades on the bulb? There are 3 wires to each bulb and 3 spade on each bulb...
