More problems.. nc23 Doesn't like 2nd gear
Me (again)
A problem started suddenly on one ride. When putting any power through 2nd gear beyond around 4k revs the revs jump around it lurches back and forth voilently then if i ease off it instantly stops. If i hold the throttle itll stop after a few seconds and be fine till say 9k revs then do it again.. only happens in 2nd and i dont have to put it into 2nd again after its finished having its spaz. So I wouldnt call it jumping out of gear as such because it seems to stay in the gear.
A friend is going to watch me ride up and down the road later as id love to have a nose around myself but its a little nerve racking riding it like this. I dont know a huge amount about transmissions or clutches so im stumped for the moment. If its a selector fork or anything that involves dropping the engine or splitting crank cases i think itll be on ebay. Its been one thing after another. Im hoping its clutch. The adjuster by the casing is wound right out. And is about half way on the bars, so presumably its pretty worn. Its got the right amount of oil in and the chain is tensioned correctly. The rearset linkages are also fine. I will check for tight spots closely later as it seems okay at a glance. Id be suprised if something like a tight spot could cause this though anyway. Its running 14-40 gearing.
Any help appreciated.
Anyone else had anything similar?
