Rusty tank?

Since I'm trying to sort the leaking fuel tap, I thought I'd get the rust sorted in the tank. My first try is going to be the vinegar method since it's cheap, if that doesn't work electrolysis will be up next and if that don't work POR15.

Any one tried similar?

Easiest way is get some aquatic gravel which has been washed, couple of pints of jizer. Shove it in the tank and shake it until your arms hurt like hell.

Once you've done that for an hour or so, clean it all out and assess, should be pretty clean. If not por15 or petseal.

Got a bicycle chain with a wire attached to get any loose rust off, lot easier than fishing out gravel me thinks.
Heard bad news with Petseal, POR15 seems to be the dogs for re-sealing tanks, hopefully the vinegar will do the trick, just got to keep the fuel topped up when done.

I've used a POR15 kit in my tank. It was a great product and easy to use. Only advice is to follow the instructions exactly and be really anal about drying the tank out between stages.

POR is really good stuff but as above... don't rush, it has to be perfectly dried between steps or it's no good.

If you follow the instructions properly and be very meticulous it's a great product.

That said, with the cost / time / effort if you can find a tank thats not rusted then buy that instead
