It isnt worth it,you would need to deal with the fust first then seal the tank,it would be cheaper buying another tank unless the paint on yours is mint.

Really? I had a pretty rusty tank - mainly around the bottom where the fuel tap joins. I bought a POR15 tank repair kit and now it is a good as new. Really good product and I couldn't recommend it enough.rcv4 wrote:It isnt worth it,you would need to deal with the fust first then seal the tank,it would be cheaper buying another tank unless the paint on yours is mint.

Good stuff by all accounts there will be a lot of folks needing this soon with most tanks now over 20yrs old. Already have one tank with a pin hole leak near the tap mount and another spare tank with the first signs of rot in the same area.lukemillar wrote:Really? Re: Restoring a tank
I have an undented, rust free tank left over from my bike (now split) which has been in dry storage for a couple of years, its a non standard colour (yellow) but its in very good condition, I may try and get some pics of it if anyone is interested, cheers Paul.
