nc29 Pick Up Coils/pulse gen - what else will fit
Right finally think I have nailed by Hot Start Problem.
If the bike is left an hour after riding it wont start, it turns over fine, bump it and it goes fine. Leave all day or over night and its fine. New batt and reg/rec last year as the whole lot was duff.
Looks like the pick up coil or pulse gen sensor - depending on whom you are talking to - is failing.
Measured it and its fine. Ran the bike for 30 mins on and off for 30 mins to let it cool. Finally the bike wouldnt fire after around 5 runs, measure the resistance of the pick up and and its open circuit, in the space of 10 mins it has dropped to the correct resistance and lo and behold the bike starts again.
So short of buying a new one, what other bike has this kind of coil. There is one on ebay but its a bit pricey and its for a CB400 so not sure if its the same. www.CMSNL.com didnt help track one off a another honda.

Any help - please.

Either get the R1 coils, search Greggo's post. Or get some from Graeme.

Had an email from GF but managed to get one from a breakers. Should have tried GF first!
I sourced a pick up coil from the CB1 400 its the same, different part number because the lead is longer?
Hot starting problem solved.
