Engine power NC23

Post by Jack Newman »

Hey all, I've got an NC23 1988 Honda CBR 400, currently running at 52hp, which i'd like to increase to 64. Anyone got any reasonably priced/simple ideas that I could do to the engine to squeeze a little more out?

thanks.

12bhp is a lot to squeeze out with reasonably priced mods.

If it were me, I'd start with a bloody good service such as:

-plugs
-oil and filter
-airfilter (oem part)
-valve clearances
-carb clean
-chain and sprockets (if needed)

You'll get a few more horses if the above hasn't been done in a while. Then go onto exhaust, jetting and basic induction modifications and get it set up on a dyno.

A good full exhaust system, jetting and some basic induction mods can increase bhp by several ponies.

This is relatively simply - below are a couple of pictures from my Personal 2011 Street Stocks Championship Winning Tri Arm.

100% stock engine / standard CDI - fresh MOT - genny fitted - road legal machine.

if interested how to do it - just call me or give me a number - I'll call you back.

GF carb mods / air filter mods / Exhaust .. away you go.
