Headlight fittings
Hello,
A while back i bought some used fairings for my NC35, i guess i didn't inspect them as well as i thought i did because now i tried to use them and noticed the nose cone piece is missing those brass/metal insert bits to hold the headlights securely.
now can i buy these brass/metal inserts from someone or dealership? if so what are they called or part number?
thanks for any help for a stupid problem.

Re: Headlight fittings
okay,
i have just returned from the honda dealership. I explained the part and the guy knew what i wanted but said this is part of the nose cone and not a part:(
so, what would people recommend to fill the holes so i can screw into safely?
metal putty, glue, body filler?

lol,
the more i think about this the more i am deciding against filling the hole so i am going to try to glue in a helicoil and hope that holds...
...fingers crossed...

Re: Headlight fittings
could try some plastex? That should fix it enough to keep the headlight in

Re: Headlight fittings
Apparantly you can tap a thread into plastex so that should work, i think id open the hole out a bit and bond a rivet nut or something similar in so its a bit more durable.

forgive my ignorance... ...what is plastex? how does this get applied i.e. does this come in a squeezy tube and is it easy to work with?BillingCBR wrote:could try some plastex? That should fix it enough to keep the headlight in

Re: Headlight fittings
it's a 2 part resin type jobby, fill the holes with the powder, drip the liquid in, leave it for a while (think it was 20 minutes, but can't be sure) drill and tap to suit the screws you're using to hold the headlight in
