MC21 wheels in an NC29?
Hi Team
After the last race meeting, which was on-again off-again dry track, I've decided to get a spare set of wheels to make changing to slicks a lot easier. Although I chose apathy on the day and didn't take off my slicks which worked out great, just watching everyone else running wheels down to the tyre changer was enough for me.
To that end, can anyone confirm if a set of MC21 (the NSR250 with 17s and 'normal' swingarm) wheels will drop straight into a 29? It seems practically every honda from the 90s shares the same front but are there other rears that can also be fitted without modification?
thanks in advance, danny

apparently the rear does, front is 3in...as a precaution tho,you should try and get hold of alixia(alister cook) from the forum,im sure he is using the mc21 rear on his 29,as u may need extra bits(spacers, sprocket carrier disc etc)

Thanks for that Stimpy, I'll Alex a call to get his persepctive on whether it's worthwhile for the benefit. Glad to hear the needles worked, next time I'm at a practice day I might bung mine in to see if they make a difference.

I would use the 110 but you could use the 120.
I have done quite a bit of searching regarding 110 fronts on a 400 and most people who have used them (generally racers)have said there are no minus points at all and it does sharpen the steering. I have a set of NSR Magteks on my 35 and when some more cash comes along I will be searching for some for my 29.

The problem we have is that all slicks are designed either for 2.5 (125GP) or 3.5 rims, I assume the guys you were researching were running road tyres where there is more choice?tanuki wrote:I have done quite a bit of searching regarding 110 fronts on a 400 and most people who have used them (generally racers)have said there are no minus points at all and it does sharpen the steering. NSR SP wheelas are obviously Mag - I guess the front wheel is a straight swap onto a NC29 ...However, Would it fit, but more interestingly what would happen if an NSR SP 18" rear were fitted instead of the usual 17" rear wheel?
