New to VFR 400

Hey Devian just been down to the garage after that advice and have found that vac pipe still atached at the cylinder side but capped off with a screw and not onto that tap, so i asume this tap mod lets the fuel just flow straight in?? is this what causes flooding and wet plugs if you leave the tap open?? ive odered new plugs should be here tomorrow.

yeah could be , personally id get the tap sorted , think rick oliver does a repair kit , theres a whole heap of reasons why and im sure someone will be along to list them all
one being if the float valves arnt closing properly the cylinders will fill with fuel causing alsorts of probs,
i defo turn the tap off when not running the bike,

yep thats what i was lookin for a real top man who goes above and beyond to help others out, but remeber he's just an ordinalry bloke with a family and stuff

right a quick update new plugs arrived today but them in fired up fine let it idle and warm up for abit then gave it some revs it will get higher up the rev range but again after 6k it stuggles its not the nice smooth 0 to 14k you want, i gave carbs agood clean the other day and there all sitting on the rubbers and clamped tight so im stummped i checked all the plugs were fireing and sparking fine and they were, any more thought would be much appreciated. cheers

One more thing my father just got back hes quite clued up on bikes he said it sounds more like an ignition timing problem, is this common and is it the cdi unit at the back of the bike?

Did you take your carbs off and go through Cammos guide on carbs on here? its well worth doing for peace of mind.

yes did the carb strip and clean last saturday needed it so thats fine
