Cheers for all the advice guys i stripped down the carbs the weekend great fun to get stuck into, one thing i found strange was this bike seems to have been put together by the backward man, the emulsion tubes were in the wrong carbs but also where all the drain screws and pilot screw adjusters were they were all facing inwards so can only access the screws when the carbs are off?? does this seem strange to anyone?? even the brake calipers have the nissin writing faceing inwards disk side?? strange or some kinda weired vfr thing?? cheers

you should have 2 pipes coming from the tap , you have the main fuel pipe from the tap to the carbs, and a thiner vacume pipe that runs from the tap to the rear right cylinder, the tap runs on a vacume so without the vac pipe connected no fuel will flow

mmmmm i dont have that second pipe, where on the cylinder does it connect? but if my fuel is flowing out the tap anyway does that mean the tap is broken?

There's a little spigot just under the air inlet. You can get them for a fiver from Rick Oliver.

If it's a steady flow then the tap might be faulty.

if you look on the right rear cylinder (if your sat on the bike) bout half way down ish should be a spiggot sticking out (i think its a pain in the ass to get to with carbs in place)
if your tap flows fuel either the diaphram is fucked or someone has done the hrc mod which removes the need for the vac pipe,
you said the emulsion tubes were in the wrong carbs id double check as maybe workin on them upside down its possible they were the wrong way round , (silly i know but best check just incase)

edit , also its really important to check the carbs are seated properly on the rubbers , get in there with a torch to see underneath all round ,

also i might add its mega easy to kill the plugs on these vfr's , full choke and no throttle is the way to go from cold
