NC23 Speedo not working??

Post by The Porter » Mon Feb 13, 2012 2:08 pm

Hi Guy's,

I bought the missus an NC23 last year for £300 non-runner.

Luckily the carbs just needed a good clean, adjust float heights and balance, job done. Brakes were also seized so stripped and cleaned, engine gasket leaking so sorted that and some other bit done so its all tickety boo now!

The only problem I have is the speedo doesn't work?? The cable is fine but I don't have a clue, any help / point in the right direction would be greatly appreiated.

Cheers

Stu

Check the plastic piece that takes the drive from the front sprocket

+1 i just gave mine a nudge, it had stopped working for a day for no reason what-so-ever and that nudge put the fucker back to work as it should be doing! I don't like slackers...and that cable was trying to get out of work!

Cheers Lads!

I'll have a look at that. Not had a chance this weekend.... two kids under 3, just set-up own business (so no room in the garage), The 400 is currently fondly known as 'The Shelf' by the missus as boxes etc stacked on it!!

Will have a look next weekend (nice weather?) and let you know.

Virtual pints all round!

+1 on the plastic piece on the end of the worm drive, i have had a few of them rounded off so speedo stops.
Im thinking about having some made up from machined steel, Would anyone be interested if i can have them made?

Will have to find out a price first though, dont see it being much.
