Re: A quick Question about Shifting
Basically what Mark means is instead of 1 down, 5 up, it's 1 up, 5 down. This way, when clutchless up-shifting, all you have to do is apply a small amount of pressure on the gear lever, close the throttle slightly and hey presto, the next gear will just pop in. Of course it's the same process whatever pattern you have, just that little bit easier with the reverse one, especially if you're racing.

Re: A quick Question about Shifting
when clutchless shifting, assuming you put light pressure on the gear lever and give the throttle a dab, is it in any way unhealthy for the gearbox/drivetrain compared to shifting quickly with the clutch?

Nope, not damaging at all.Lope wrote:when clutchless shifting, assuming you put light pressure on the gear lever and give the throttle a dab, is it in any way unhealthy for the gearbox/drivetrain compared to shifting quickly with the clutch?
I still don't do it though because it feels as though I'm abusing my baby.
