Radiator Dimensions

Post by nakes999 » Sat Jan 28, 2012 4:51 pm

I need to have a Top radiator made for my RVF but they can't make it with the curve.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the aftermarket top radiator that fits the NC35? I can't find a second-hand one in South Africa so the only options is have one made or buy a 2nd-hand one from UK but then I'm buying something that I have to assume is in good condition but still costs around the same as having one made...

Ok, So i emailed one of the sellers on eBay for dimensions of the top radiator. It's 400mm wide header to header but the stock NC35 rad is 390mm and has a curve in it.

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket top rad to the RVF without needing to cut the fairing to make it fit? If so, how wide is it? and does it fit OK without the curve?

Some advice would be greatly appreciated... I can't find a top rad in South Africa and my bike is off the road for some time now and it's my only transport so I Really need to get a rad but don't want to buy something that doesn't fit because I'm also on a tight budget...

Ive got a Ally race one up in the loft and that hasnt got a curve, if no one else comes up with a size i'll get up there and measure it. It also fits behind the fairings no problem.

Thanks... so that fits the RVF no probs? would you be willing to sell it? I have friends that can accept shipping in UK and they can forward it to me in South Africa.

I'm having some radiators made for my bikes now, the upper rad will be 400 mm wide. I measured the OEM top radiator at 400 mm and it fit inside the RVF fairings with no issues.

I'm having no luck getting a RVF radiator and not heard back from Geoff regarding the top radiator he has for sale.... I found a NC30 radiator but someone said it's not a straight fit.... so how much cutting will I need to do in the fairing to make the NC30 radiator fit?

Will it be so much that I need to respray my fairing?

I'm without transport for wayyy too long now... so if i have to hack my fairing then so be it...

you'll have to tweak some mounts, that is all for the NC30 rad?? No cutting as far as I know..
