hugger help

Post by jay20jay »

I have just tried to fit my rear hugger that I got of eBay. It all bolts on fine on the chain side but I can't fit the bracket that sits by the bottom of the shock as there is nothing to bolt it to
Can anyone help me

If it like the RC30 hugger, then the bottom rear link bolt nut is replaced with a longer nut, drilled m6 to fix the bracket to the swinging arm.

All the huggers ive had came with a fitting kit, cant remember exactly whats included but its a few bits and bobs, not really something you can just buy off the shelf although if someone can post a pic up of the kit im sure you could knock one up

If it does fit as RC, then nut is a special, should come with kit.

Something like an m10 fine nut about 20mm long ,threaded half way, the end tapped m6 for the hugger fixing.
Go back to the supplier first, but could be made from a length of 17mm hexagon bar.

Sounds like you need the nut as stated.
See if the m6 hugger bracket hole lines up with the centre of the linkage bolt, if so measure the length required for the new long nut and tap it half way m10 fine, and half way m6.
